Our family's roots are solidly planted in this territory's soil for generations, and it is here that we continue to grow
Our Home

Our family has lived in Forenza for centuries. Forenza is a small town near the Appenine Mountains of Basilicata. Situated at the north of the region, Forenza is perched upon a hill 850 meters (2800 feet) above sea level near the Apuglian plain. Forenza was among the early sentinels of the Lucani people (who pre-dated the Ancient Romans) before eventually becoming part of the Roman Empire. From here one can see the Adriatic Sea, the Gargano Promontory, and the Gulf of Manfredonia. Forenza is quilted with wheat cultivated valleys, forested land, interwoven with olive groves, vineyards, and orchards. When the heat arriving from Apulia meets the cool air of the Forenza forests, the resulting wind ripens our crops, and the rain created ensures their abundance.

Our family's history is inseparable from the history of Forenza and is interwoven with the history of this territory. Our sense of belonging to the community of Forenza is visceral; so much so that, despite the sustained significant emigration away from this area, we decided to stay and to continue to invest in our family’s business, promoting new methods of agriculture that are more healthy for the environment (we have adopted an integrated agriculture protocol) compatible both with our traditions and with the respect for the unique features of the territory.

Hills rich with volcanic minerals and hudreds of years old forests

Our company is situated entirely in Forenza, which has an average elevation of 650 meters (2100 feet) above sea level and is characterized by its rolling hills, near the volcanic Mt. Vulture. The volcano, now extinct, gifted us with fertile terrains which impart unique and prized organic qualities to its agricultural products.

The property is located in three districts, each about ten kilometers (six miles) apart from each other, has different climatic characteristics and soil composition. The fields are all structured differently, at different altitudes, and have different exposure to the sun, in order to ensure the unmatched quality of our products, providing them with unique flavors and aromas.

MIGLIARESE

L’antico frutteto”: for over two centuries, all the wine our family drinks came from this exact vineyard. The olives we use to make our extra virgin olive oil grow here as well, as do figs in summer time.

SAN BIAGIO

La vigna”: where our father decided, in 2000, to expand our wine-producing capacity, planting 10 hectares of Angelianco del Vulture from which we obtain our DOCG wine. This area was already well known in the 1200s for the presence of olives and wine grapes, and was called the “Vineyard of the Angels” as per historical documents.
